This was the very first sentence spoken by Sabrina last week. I think she was climbing onto the couch (which is a funny sight sometimes, watching her struggle to get up, her little butt in the air, legs flailing) when she flashed a smile, then proudly and happily stated "I did it!!". It was too funny.
Over the last week or two I realized that she has figured out that nodding means yes and shaking her head means no. And she will respond accordingly when I ask her a question (either verbally or by nodding/shaking). Also what used to be "Mine paci" is now "My paci".
The other morning we were watching the news when President Obama came on and she exclaimed "Daddy!!" :) When I told Gene about it, he took it as a compliment.
At daycare, Sabrina very much wants to be like the older kids that sometimes come into her classroom (early in the morning before all the teachers arrive and claim their respective students). The other day a teacher was telling me that she put Sabrina in a highchair to feed her some cheerios when Sabrina kept pointing to one of the gliders in the room. The teacher realized that Sabrina wanted to eat there, something she had seen one of the older kids doing. So ever since that day, Sabrina climbs onto the glider, gets her cheerios in a cup, sites there and eats them.
"I did it!!!"
