For a couple of weeks now Sabrina has been speaking in full sentences (as in, a verb and a noun, most times an object). The other day she said "My arm hurts Mommy".
This in addition to the oh-so-fun questions like "What doing Mommy?", to which you give an answer (such as "Contemplating the philosophical ramifications of the fiscal year") and she'll say "Ohhhhhh, okaaaaayyyy".
And she loves to exhibit her emerging leadership skills. For example, she regularly goes up to Gene if he's in the kitchen, takes him by the hand saying "Come here Daddy", leads him to the family room, tells him kindly "Sit down, Daddy, sit down".
We've made a little game when we're in the car near home. Our neighborhood has wide sidewalks and trails, some of which can be seen from the road. So it's very common to see people taking their dogs for a walk or going for a jog. I'll ask her "Sabrina, is that lady walking or running?". Sometimes when I forget to ask, she'll voluntarily say "Mommy, he's running!"
And yesterday at the dinner table, Gene was eating pops, which are these round whole grain puff thingies about 4 inches in diameter. She'll often ask him for some, and he will oblige, snapping off small sections. To me they're a waste of energy because they don't have much taste. But yesterday, Sabrina said "Daddy, some for Mommy?". She's my advocate!
