After weeks and weeks of saying "Mama" to her, Sabrina finally said it herself on Sunday (4/19), much to my delight! She said a string of them "Maaaa MaMaMa" Hey, I'll take it. Now whenever she says Mama, I make sure to stop what I'm doing, look at her, and respond "Yes, sweetie?" so that she can be sure that Mama = me!
I'm not sure how parents migrate from the joy of hearing Mama or Dada to being able to completely ignore these calls later on (as in, when a kid is trying to interupt an adult-to-adult conversation). :)
Now Gene is reinforcing the Mama's by announcing me when I come home from work :) In addition, we're working on getting her to say Dada. It's only fair, after all...
"Mama!!!"
