First Mother's Day

Mother's Day ROCKS! Sabrina and Gene each gave me a mother's day card and a gift. From Gene it was a ruby pendant (Sabrina's birth stone) and chain, and form Sabrina it was a tile with her hand-print on it (they made it at daycare one day this week). Both gifts were just perfect :)

Then we all went out to breakfast. It wasn't an original idea because even though we got there at 9:30 am, there was already a 35 minute wait. Sabrina usually does really well in high chairs and today was no exception. She loves making eyes at waiters, bus boys, etc. What a flirt! :)

And today was such a beautiful day, with temps in the low 70's, blue sky and light breeze. When we got home, Gene decided to wash his car instead of taking it 7 miles down the road to the automatic car wash. Sabrina and I sat outside in a shady spot near the deck and watched him. The fresh air did us all good :)

Once Sabrina fell asleep for her nap, I started making lentil and white bean soup (the beans had been soaking overnight), washing bottles and generally cleaning up in the kitchen. Speaking of soup, I'd better go check on it! Happy Mother's Day to all moms!
