Today Sabrina had her first fever ever -- when I went to pick her up at day care at 4:30 pm they said she was teary most of the afternoon and wanted to be held a lot. When I got there in fact, her favorite teacher had her in the classroom alone and was holding her in her arms while in the rocking chair. Sabrina had her eyes closed. When she opened them and saw me she gave me this look of "I want my mommy!" and looked like she was about to start sobbing. I took her home and checked her temp -- 101.8. Yikes!
I called her pediatrician's office only to find that they were closed. Then I called the pediatrician office that I had abandoned back when Sabrina was a few weeks old because I thought most of the docs there had bad bedside manner. Hey, I can let go of my pride when needed. They were just about to close but I managed to talk to a nurse who advised giving Sabrina 1.4 ml of tylenol. So I did and after a long nap on my chest she was down to 99.5. Phiew! She's sound asleep now after drinking a whole bottle of formula so I'm hoping that the fever has broken.
