Shoe shopping

For the first time Sabrina and I went shoe shopping. It was a new experience for both us, as I quickly realized when we were approached by a sales person inside the Stride Rite store who asked how she could help us. I think I must have given her a blank 'help me' look because she goes "Would you like me to measure her feet?" Um, yeah, that's it, sounds like a good place to start :) I told her this is a first for me. Anyway it turns out Miss Sabrina wears a size 4 1/2 wide. Poor kid, she ended up with my big 'ol wide feet.

We tried on a couple of shoes and Gene had done some quick research so I knew to ask for softer soled shoes and that laces were preferred over velcro. Sabrina did well with the shoe fittings, only complaining once. We ended up buying two pairs: some Robeez for indoor use...

and a pair of white and pink soft-soled sneakers for outdoor use. These will come in handy for Europe because I'm sure she'll no longer be content in her stroller for long periods.

The store itself was very kid-friendly and they had some wall-mounted toys right at Sabrina's eye level. I couldn't help but snap a few pics on my cell phone to commemorate the occasion!
