Date night resurgence II

Sabrina's daycare center offers periodic "parents night out" and Friday night was the first time since she started there. For a small fee of $20, they extend their hours and will watch your kid from 5:30 pm - 10:30pm. It's nice for the parents because they can rest assured that it's the same providers that will be caring for the child and not some strange babysitter who will roam around the house :) So Gene picked her up at 3:30 pm, brought her home for a few hours until I came home and changed. That's when we had to do some car-wrangling. We wanted to go out in the Porsche, but since it cannot accommodate a car seat, I had to drive Sabrina to the daycare center in my SUV, while Gene followed in the Porsche. We left my car there for pick-up duty.

Our "date" began at 6:00 pm. We drove about 20 miles to a new seafood restaurant (opened a month ago I think). They hadn't posted their menu on-line so we weren't sure what to expect, but WOW! While Gene didn't much care for the modern decor, we both agreed the food was simply amazing and the service very attentive. It was a fancy place so they most likely would have frowned upon a baby coming along. We had a great time, enjoying each other's company and the great food. By the time we got to the daycare center, it was 9:00 pm and Sabrina was asleep in a bouncer chair. We took her home, fed her and she slept from 10:30 pm to 7:30 am.

So all in all, it was a great way to kick off the weekend!
