After undergoing a "Barium Swallow X-ray (Fluoroscopy)", the radiologist informed me that Sabrina "definitely has reflux" and to follow up with the pediatrician. So before even leaving the hospital, I called and made an appointment for tomorrow morning. From the research I have done, I know that it's usually treated with Zantac (which neutralizes the stomach acid) or Prevacid (which blocks the acid from being produced). Both would need to be taken 30 minutes before each feeding. I have a whole list of questions for the doc, and I plan to ask them all tomorrow.
I'm glad to know what is causing Sabrina's distress, but just like the colic diagnosis, I need to know what the plan is -- how long do we have her on the meds? Will she outgrow this or is it a life-long ailment? Etc.
Another diagnosis... GERD / Acid Reflux
